Hi "amoergosum",

Thanks for posting my videos! I browse the forum from time to time. Always some interesting drum gossip that's new to me.

I had the immense pleasure of performing with Gary Husband and Janek Gwizdala late last year. Check out the videos:

(I have no idea how to embed these videos into this post as you can see!)

Thanks,

Louie

Hi Louie,
What can I say about your playing ??
Impressive, perfect timing and musical...

**** * * * * * * * * *
Two questions:

Your sound in the videos has improved a lot...

What audio/video setup have you used in the first video, with the white pearl set ?

Which practice headphones are you using in these videos ?
I am using Vic Firth SIH1. I think that the isolation and the drum sound I hear from my own playing (without plugging) is very good but the music sound that it gives from the mixer, CDs...is not my taste.

The white Pearl set video is new to me....5 stars.
Thanks Louie.

Watching the Gary Husband videos now.

Thanks Juan!

The drums are Pearl Masters MMP (4-ply maple with reinforcement rings). I also have a Pearl Reference that I love. Loved Pearl drums since I was a kid.

I just hooked up with Sabian and these cymbals are really amazing. What a difference!

For the recent video I borrowed some gear - an HD camera and some better quality mics. I am not so good with Logic though. I haven't spent the time really learning how to mix properly. But for this purpose I guess it will do.

Seeing the logo, I don´t remember the name of your headphones Louie.

Could you, or someone who recognizes the brand, tell me which headphones are you using on these videos ?

They are Metrophones. The regular version without the metronome inside and with volume controller built in. Excellent phones, haven't found anything else that cuts out so much but makes the drums sound great too.

Word up on the StudioKans.

Great playing Louie! I'm sure you get it on occasion, but no relation to the other Palmer?

Awesome playing on those latest videos Louie, you've improved A LOT in the last 3 or so years and that's incredible because when I first heard you, you were already insane!

Edit: By the way, I really liked that vamp that you were soloing over in that older video, is there any chance you could share that with us cos I'd love jam along to it!
