Shame on all of you for not hipping me to this clip before. There are several WTF moments, but especially the freaky death metal-like double pedal work that happens between 2:30 and 2:41. Where the hell did that come from? It's not fair. It's not fair. It's not fair. I'm quitting drums now. See y'all on the House of Ex-Drumming board!

“Let's try some of my songs.” Dave Grohl, top sign drummer will be fired.

One of my favorite Vinnie performances. That whole CD pkg. is stellar. Jaco's version of "The Chicken" is one of those standard jam tunes that everyone knows. I'd like to see "The Sauce" from this CD take it's place. If you don't have it, get it. You will NOT be sorry.

Agreed Pat!
That CD is, off the hook, RI-DIC-U-LOUS !!!!! ESSENTIAL listening. I laugh more when I listen to that than I ever do during "Fletch," "Spinal Tap," or "Anchorman." (And I love those movies.)
Greg should make another run of these, and EVERYONE should BUY it!!!!!
Here's an interesting "study." Check out the original versions of most of these tunes off of Greg's "For My Friends" recording. Carlos plays on it, and the two approaches are like night and day. And both are killin! Same band, switch the drummer. (I know one is live in front to people, and one is in the friendly confines.) But both are GENIUS interpretations of the music, and soooooo different. Proof positive, there is more than one way to skin a cat (Sorry Fluffy!) I love to hear music where I can find 2 GREAT drummers interpreting the same music with the same band. Sure, circumstances are never the same, but it's always interesting to hear (and study) different cats' musical choices.
I wish I had the other CD version of this band (with Abe Jr.) Because I "think" they do the same tunes, and that would be yet another interpretation of this music. Anybody have that?
Mark
PS. And I agree again Pat, there should be new legislation passed against every "jam-fusion-whatever" band playing "The Chicken." But I can't hear Jaco or JB play it enough!!!!!

Why is no one refering to the DVD boot of this particular
show with all four of these musicians....It shows Vinnie like no commercial DVD rarely is able to capture.
Vinnie comes in from outside, he removes his jacket and sits down
and starts blowing on that first tune (?) in 7/8.
Doesn't anyone have this one of a kind boot?

Sick as always. Vince has always snuck in those double kick licks too. He slayed it on the Megadeth album 'The System Has Failed'
I've bits of that DVD around, would love to get ahold of a copy of the whole thing.

after years of looking for it - there are two versions knocking around - it's been like the Holy Grail of Vince ever since a clip was glimpsed on Steve's infamous home movie -featuring Mr traditional grip himself. I have clips on my iPhone and watch them 2-3 times a week.....

This is version of this song is my number one thing to watch before I start a "stretching" kind of gig..After setup ,about twenty minutes before downbeat I watch this vid and never fails to fire things up..
There is nothing left to say.
