i want clear ambassadors back on my kit now. I was just thinking of this era Weckl today. I was gonna bust out the BAck to Basics VHS and get all nostalgic...

Nice...thanks.

Duct tape on those drums...sign 'o the times....although putting duct tape on Yamaha Recording Custom drums is like putting ketchup on In n Out fries (saying filet mignon was obvious). We all had mullets in 1986, too.

Thanks a lot for those great links.
The way Dave masters EACH note... what a monster...

Saw him recently, playing in the band Nomads, of Chris Minh Doky.
The last song what a crazy tune with an AMAZING GROOVE. I've never seen Dave playing a STRAIGHT groove like that before.

Two cools after-gig-pics to share (thanks Jb ;)) :

Returning to 1986.
I wish I wasn't born just one year before... Seeing guys like Dave, Vinnie, Steve etc. making fusion drumming evolve like that must have been such a great experience...

Is the first rack tom an 8" ??????
its tuned to an F thats pretty high for a 10"

please clarify
Im showing rack 1 and 2 being "F" and "C"
I'm assuming they are an 8" and 10"

What are you, new??? ;)

Weckl used to play 8" and 10" on the bass drum, and 13" and 15" mounted floor toms.
