Re: [SNARE COLLECTOR] Worldmax Bronze Hawg
I can't really complain much, my Catalina Birch comes from China. But I can tell you that there is most certainly a quality difference. I have a USA Custom kit as well. There's no comparison in tone.
did you put plastic edges on that WorldMax too? I still can't believe the Tamburo's have ...

Re: [SNARE COLLECTOR] Worldmax Bronze Hawg
Worldmax are made in Taiwan but the quality of their snare is awesome. Remember, for instance, that Pearl Reference are also made in Taiwan.
They sound so great and the price is interesting for such a good snare.

[SNARE COLLECTOR] Worldmax Bronze Hawg
Hi everybody,
I'd like to introduce my new snare (Worldmax Bronze Hawg 14*5). I bought it in a little shop in Italy and this is a collector model (I am lucky). This model is not any more produced by Worldmax and it's almost impossible to find it in the market. So this is a rare piece.

Re: [TEST CUSTOM SNARE] Hand assembled snare awesome !
The other thing, with the stave construction, where the grain of the wood is perpendicular to the playing surface, it seems it would be more difficult to cut a nice, solid bearing edge, and after you did, you would want to seal off those end grains really well.
I am curious, though, as to what ...

Re: [TEST CUSTOM SNARE] Hand assembled snare awesome !
Stave construction is known to have a signifiant power and those epoxy bearing edges just allow to focus the sound in this case.
I mean that Opera series are very versatile since those factors are combined.

Re: [TEST CUSTOM SNARE] Hand assembled snare awesome !
based on the various videos and so forth, just my opinion, but i'd put good money that those drums, which are beautiful and obviously made with love, would sound substantially better if you got rid of that epoxy-resin thing and had some nice edges cut on em.
