I was searching Toss Panos on Spotify and found this oddball of a record. Very cool stuff (no HOT DRUM SHIT on this album)...

The Muller album is incredible - Bill Stewart & Matt Penman kill it with him.DSOP wrote:I recently picked up three records that I'm really enjoying. I highly recommend checking them out:
* Pat Metheny - Unity Band
* James Muller - Kaboom
* Mike Stern - All Over The Place
Picked up the Unity Band album as well, another really great album!
An album I've been smashing for the last few months is the Black Radio by Robert Glasper Experiment. Chris Dave is on drums & plays some super tasty grooves - man that guy is good! The cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit is really, really cool as well. Check it out:

These guys are just incredible live, the low end is absolutely NUTS.
Like Porcupine Tree, their music doesn't really come alive on the record, at least to me. The Incident made total sense live, the huge chords needed the extra 1 more.
But live, hole nuther deal. It's like a vortex of clear hair-blowin bass. The mix of the instruments is where it needs to be.

This band is amazing. I recommend checking out the Surfin' USSR album on Amazon. There are a few other tracks that are insane.
