I'm a big Sean Rickman fan. I especially love his control and expressiveness at low dynamic levels. Blows my mind.

Speaking of which... He´s cool in my book (and he can sing btw!)...Morgenthaler wrote:similar to Copeland's except for the crucial powerful backbeat that made all the difference.
This was my thought the first time I saw him also.Paul Marangoni wrote:I especially love his control and expressiveness at low dynamic levels. Blows my mind.
I would suggest that it's impossible to know who a drummer is, or his drumming personality, with your eyes closed unless you are very familiar with that drummer's style. In my opinion, SR has amazing timing, feel, grove and chops. But, I've only heard and seen him on YouTube. Not enough (for me, at least), to recognize his drumming only by listening to it. Just a thought.Morgenthaler wrote:I don't get him.
I don't' hear any personality, that would let me know who he was if I closed my eyes.
The open-ringing un-tuned snare bugs the heck out of me and his left-hand trad grip technique is un-schooled,

Similar to Robin Dimaggio, Russ Miller, Gregg Bissonnette and others, he has great skills but (TO ME) very little personality.
Yup! He can fly with 3 inch stick height. Amazing!Paul Marangoni wrote:I'm a big Sean Rickman fan. I especially love his control and expressiveness at low dynamic levels. Blows my mind.
