The thing is, the small pad is a bit uneven in sound due to the cymbal stand screw underneath, so I'm not really hitting dead center and that kinda alters the perception. I might be more accurate than I initially thought.
This one is deceiving. The 7 stroke roll followed by the sixtuplet accents is hard to get up to speed.

Speaking of which, my stroke accuracy seems to have gone out the window at some point, whenever I do multi-stroke stuff, notes go all over the pad. Might be due to having relaxed my grip a bit more lately. Gotta work on that.

Yeah, my dad got one a while ago under someone else's advice. Not what I'd recommend for an almost 60 year-old guy with basic technique, but hey, he's trying hard
They don't really suit the kind of practicing that I do. I'd rather go for intense workouts with longer series but no added weight or pad resistance. My sound wouldn't benefit from them, either.

This one has always been a b**ch. The drags are so hard to pull off without sounding like regular 32nd notes.
I might just post them every 4 or 5 solos so I'm not saturating the forum...

Been checking out your Wilcoxon vids, nice work there.
One question, how are you approaching the 15 stroke roll which reoccurs in the pieces, specifically Solo 3 bar 7?
I'm interpreting it this way, the 14 notes of the 15 stroke roll are played in the time of 3 quavers with the 15th note being beat 1 of the next bar (played as a single stroke roll as stipulated by the 'rights' beginning and ending the roll)
I must say that it seems overly complex to do it this way, but seems the only logical way...
Just wondered what you're doing?

To me the 15 stroke roll text includes the drag.
So, really it's a 13-stroke roll with regular 32nd note doubles starting on the & of 1 with a drag in front of it.
This is how the stickings make sense.
When there's no drag and alternate stickings, like the last bar on No. 4 however, then you'll fit a 32nd note sixtuplet in that one 8th note beat.
