Yeah- I have this audio boot somewhere from way back in 2000...it's cool to see them play it after hearing it...

Very intense, visceral, genuine stuff going on here. It's a very private, comfortable environment for all of them, like a meeting of friends where there's no taboo topics.

No disrespect to VC but Weckl's version for me is much better...
Then again IMO DW is a tastier player than Vinnie... to my ears.

Not really a great comparison to make when there is 12 years between the performances. Anyways, Gadd did the most swingin job on The Mad Hatter.

Is that the same audio as from Chicks Live at the Blue Note record? Vinnie is a giant but maybe overplaying here. It's impressive from a drumming standpoint but too often it's so damn cluttered with notes that it wears my ears out.
But they seem to have fun, so what do I know?
