That's a lot of jerkiness and akwardness to get that left arm to go in those directions with TG. He sounded great back then though. He was really going for it. Now he's refined his physiology on the kit and is now blazing in his mid 60s. He even said repetetive stress using a computer can mess with you so he's making us aware how ergonomics is important to stay healthy.

^^Yeah but I think the real damage was when he had the little bongo's on his left. That was a fun little era.

Had absolutely no idea that was Sheryl Crow on vocals on Rainy Day.

Man I would really Love to see Dave just play interrupted groove here for a change. All the HH embellishments and stabs every two bars/four bars. Not playing that stuff is its own skill.

Exactly! I always thought that Dave does that way too much on way too many tunes, and it really worsens his groove and feel. I think his groove/feel would be way better it he were to just simply stop doing that.

Who's going to call him out on that stuff though? No one that hires him because they want the Dave stuff.
I remember joking with a friend about not being able to find any recording of Dave playing 5 or more identical bars. I think I found one or two examples ...maybe.
