Neither Josh or Abe weren´t a good fit to Sting, imo... Omar, Manu and Vinnie set the bar sky high...

Yes, they were audible. Audible and the drums being an integral part of the sound is a totally different thing. Hearing smack smack smack isn't really music, or takes much skill at that point. It just has to be in time. No nuance. No groove. Heck, could be playing CB drums and it wouldn't make a difference. That's the point chief.
