I think Sorum played really solid on that record. One of the better performances, but that record was a bit on the dull side.

That record was produced Neil Peart, no? Basically his attempt at redemption. Ever since Peart first played with the Buddy Rich band, he withered away. Totally ruined the guy.

It messed his mind up.

But I did catch Rush in New Jersey and I thought he played with fire and some balls, good energy.

I wish he would hang up the big band shit.

There were guys like Gregg all over Detroit twenty years ago, I'm sure in every city. Some really good players...but I wouldn't throw a big band chart at many of them...not that I could nail it...but it's not who they are.

That was brutal musically...nice hands tho

When the epic DW & Vinnie BR tape originally came out, some jazzsnobs in my music class were complaining "Why did they pick Weckl and Vinnie...those are a bunch of fusion cats...they can't swing!" :roll:
