If I remember correctly, Jeff Porcaro and his drum tech at the time (Ross Garfield?) designed/invented the drum rack, and then Pearl put it into production. Its purpose was to make setups easier and more consistent for touring. Not sure why that would be hard to understand. Aesthetically they're not the most beautiful thing to surround a drumset with, but they do serve a purpose.

Man, when guitarists turn around like that it always freaks me out. Especially when I'm the new guy.

After reading an interview in Modern Drummer and seeing/hearing Shannon on the Modern Drummer festival DVD I thought he would be a great fit for them. It was clear that he had a tremendous love and deep respect for Jeff's playing and the ability to lay down a velvet-smooth pocket.

Im really digging this Shannon Forest guy. I guess it's because of all of Toto's drummers /post JP; he reminds me of Jeff in a big way.

Shannon is SO killin' it!! I'm a big fan of how Simon took Toto and put his trademark stuff into the old songs, but this just hits home!
I'm actually liking it better than with KC, who is a monster drummer, but this is a perfect fit.
