Here's a loooong clip from an annual Norwegian drum event.

[youtube_https]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nm_feLp3RSY[/youtube_https]

They are speaking Norwegian and the breakes were filmed too, but just skip 5 min segments when it seems pointless and you'll get something out of it.

The host and brain behind the thing is Lage Thune Myrberget, who was one of the first drummers I took lessons with. He's the brain behind the website trommer.no and also the author of the most popular beginner books for drums used in Norway.

There's a few songs with Kim Ofstad, drummer for D'Sound

Then there's Stig who plays drums for Gabrielle, who's probably not much known outside Scandinavia, going through his hybrid setup.

There's a demonstration and talk about the Roland SPD-SX.

Lastly Baard Kolstad, who's an intersting story. He has all sorts of street drumming vids on youtube. He got some attention when he won the Roland digital drum contest a couple of years ago. He went to the same conservatory I did. He started the year I left. They end with one of his bands a sort of more prog inspired melancholic metal outfit, for those that are into that sort of thing.

Norway is small, so if I went I would meet lots of friends and aquaintances.

The day after they had a big Christmas dinner open for any drummer who wants to attend. I was thinking about going, but with all that's happening I guess it slipped my mind along with many other things.

Thank God for BandCamp. It's like there's not a week without a great find! These guys are cool. No bassist but two drummers :D I love how off-beat some of the melodies and grooves are.

This Jerry De Villiers jr. band "Turning Point" was THE leading Jazz Fusion band in Montreal back in the late 80s, early 90s... Here's a live track joined by Gerry Etkins on keys... LOVE IT!!

Slightly overplayed at times but the snare sound doesn't get much better than this. I love this guy after Kamasi Washington's "Epic"
