Pocketplayer wrote:Greg works with my buddy who directs voice work...he's the voice of a very
popular character from Winnie the Pooh. He was at a Disney session my friend
was directing and when Greg said something he told everyone to stop talking.
Then said, "You, drummer...say something." Greg talked and he said, "YES...
I've been looking for that voice for Winnie the Pooh!" I forgot exactly what
character he plays.
He's the voice of Winnie the Pooh himself! Gregg told me the same story! I got to take a lesson with him back in 2005 and recorded it. It's still a wealth of information now!

I could think of a few people to replace the Santanas, but this probably sells and in any case we have a new attempt at a "supergroup."

^ Awesome playing by B J Wilson. Not a name I ever knew. I wonder if he inspired Vinnie, at least in as much as the incredibly low throne height.

Really nice groove here. He's obviously playing to click, I've clocked it at 97 bpm from start to finish. It's interesting though, and maybe it's just my brain today, but by the guitar solo at around 6:40, even though the groove is still great, it sounds like he's slowed down from when he started at 0:45, but he hasn't. I guess he's just playing on top of the beat at the start and and as the song goes on, he ends up playing more laid back. Does anyone else notice this or is it just my ears playing games on me?

I care most about feel and not tempo, and there´s certainly a feel change through the song. I´d say is because the 8ths on the hats towards the end. In the beginning he´s playing with less emphasis on the hats. On top of that, it seems he´s playing a little softer when the choir sings, so that may contribute to the change of feel. Funny moment: 2:40, when the percussionist get carried away and caught on camera!

Have this on my Amazon wish list. Well shot. Youtube sound. Will just have to wait until it arrives. Maybe Christmas. The Drummer is really good. Plays his ass off every song.
