How can we know who are you talking about if you don´t put their last names? 8-)

Of course. Paul and Lombardo. Who else? ;) :)

Steve - you are the MAN!

I bought the package and looked at the chart - the vamp is wicked - very tough - a challenge for sure.

The package includes a video of Dave playing the tune - he seriously makes it look so easy. Wow.

I wonder why this wasn't released officially on an Oz Noy album?

Brilliant stuff, as usual, Steve- I really dig the tightness of the groove. I think you made great choices throughout.

Tamron 10-24mm f 3.5-4.5

The recording method was the usual... external mic plugged into the Cannon 7d + the edirol roland r-09 audio recorder. Pretty ghetto setup really. I need a proper micing solution.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I appreciate it.
In terms of that lick, I'm gonna go ahead and say Portnoy didn't come with the 4 hands + 2 feet concept. :|

The Roland is a decent recording unit,.. I imagine your drum room isn't very forgiving sound wise. So unless you want to get a mixer, and 3 or more mics it won't get much better..

And killer playin dude.. That song doesn't sound like much, but when you check out the chart , the solo shots are not easy,..... kind of a nightmare ... very cool...

That's for sure. I've never even heard much of Mike's playing, and I've been known to over-use that combination from time to time. I think I first heard it from Carmine Appice, Tommy Aldridge, Neil Peart and Barriemore Barlow.
