Interesting about your bass drum sound Gavin. I too love your playing and your sound. I also enjoy working out of your Rhythmic Illusions book. In fact, I had never heard the term "rhythmic scale" before that particular section of your book. I have incorporated the scales, mainly the first one, into regular parts of my hand and double bass drum workouts. I also enjoy listening to the included CD. Great drum sounds and playing on it! I also love the joke you make about trying the 21/3 (or whatever is was) on the next gig/song. Haha!
I've been playing the VF Rock Dips that I picked up the other day and I really like them. I would never have guessed from the video that you were using such a large stick. Then I remembered how tall you were when I stood behind you a the Jojo Mayer clinic ay Guitar Center nearly a year ago.
At any rate, thanks for all the helpful info because it has made a big difference in my drumming and the way I think about sticks and my sound and feel.
Cheers!

Re: GAVIN HARRISON - VF signature sticks video
Hi Gavin,
What´s that black "box" upon your last floor tom that you can see in the thumbnail of the video ?
Maybe some barrier so that mic receives less sound from the near cymbals ?

thanks for posting them Juan
I was actually trying to just get ONE drum solo recorded - and these are the two takes that I kept. That's why they're similar ideas - but at the end of the day I let them both go.
Glad you liked them
cheers
