Hey guys,
I don't know if this is old news for you but I had never heard that clinic. Seems to be around the same period as one of the clinic that's available in the media section of HoD.
Uploaded from the same guy, this little audio explanation of the Seven Days groove.
I love hearing Vinnie talk about music related stuff. He's very interesting to listen on and off the drums.
Take care,
Daniel

Re: Vinnie clinic in Chicago.
He really lays it out in this clinic. He sounds young...
around late 80's?
1:50 - 2:50 is insane, especially after he explains
and lays the foundation to what he builds on.
Note the sensitivity to the ringing phone...so Vinnie,
like a stand-up in his groove...bounces off whatever
is thrown at him.
No video was preferred for me...audio only gives me
a different experience into how VC thinks.
10:00 gives an insight into VC's core personality.
PS--I dig the way his "stupid lick" sounds.

Wow... Great find. The first 37 mins reminded me why I have followed Vinnie for all these years. I was excited to hear everything he had to say and his playing is just ridiculous as always. Most importantly, he plays with that signature touch and dynamic sensibility that I have been missing in his recent live recordings.

This clips are definitely killer. I've been listening to them for years. Always great for some inspiration!

Re: Vinnie clinic in Chicago.
I thought these were posted on the front page and then removed for some reason. I have one marked 'Chicago 1' with the "If you wanna laugh..." line and the 'Soul Vaccination' groove. The second one is marked 'Chicago 2' which is this one. Now I'm scratching my head wondering where I got these.
I love the part where he talks about playing in odd times (in this case '7') and avoiding 'one'. It reminds me of a Kenwood Dennard audio tape where he talks about doing the same thing: http://ryangruss.com/tag/kenwood-dennard/

Definitely not the 80's, as the song that he references in the beginning (after the ringing phone) was released in 1990.
No matter when this clinic was, its just more proof of how Vinnie is just so far ahead of everyone...
