I really dig Frank on the Brand X record X Communication.

I want to check out more of Katz's playing if anyone can offer something to get.

His book is nice too.

I took a bunch of lessons with him at Drummers Collective about 8 years ago. He was a fantastic teacher, had a great attitude and is a complete beast on the drums. I occasionally use his book to teach out of and he gives some track names in it that feature his playing. Also, if you call the pro shop at The Collective, I bet they have a few of his band's CDs for sale.

He has a book. That impossible pattern he played on X-Communication is there, broken down. Fuck. What a player. As someone posted elsewhere, I want to marry Frank Katz's drumming. Fuck. What an incredible player. Fuck. And that pretty much sums up how I feel about Frank. I picked up every album I could find of his several years ago. And he still kicks my stupid @ss like I'm a flimsy little, I don't know, pick something flimsy, add the phrase "like a little girl," and that's me. Frank is a GOD.

Uh, did I say, "Go Niners!" Yeah, I'm still not over that. It's been a while for the 49er Faithful....
