As far as a musician and music patron, I remember (or at least think I remember) "buying" a "physical" "product", taking it home and it was mine forever....unless someone else took it from me or was lost or broken. I watched this video and after a few minutes was lost in the Matrix movie. I'd like to go back to that little unknown world of paying someone for their work and enjoying it....not giving a rat's fricken ass how much money Crooks Record Company LTD made. You create it, I like it, I'll buy it, here's your money...come back and see us again real soon, ya hear.

Anonymous strikes back >>>
Only minutes after the Web began digesting the news, that response came by way of thousands of upset users, many aligned to the online collective Anonymous.
The attack started swift and strong and only grew. First fell the website the US Department of Justice, justice.gov. Next was the site for Universal Music Group, a SOPA supporter and the largest record label in America.
Over the course of a few hours, hacktivists involved with the loose knit group Anonymous waged attacks on site after site, and before long the web presence for the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), Broadcast Music, Inc., or BMI, and finally FBI were down.
Anonymous calls it the single largest Internet attack in its history, and it crippled the biggest sites for the US government and entertainment industry.
To those close to Thursday’s campaign, it not only was a necessity but it was only the first step in a battle that’ll continue for a while to come.

Ya, I don't miss the days of hearing 1 or 2 tracks off a cd, going and buying the CD for $15-20 and finding out that those radio singles were just that and the rest is fluffy crap.
I buy local musicians cd's and even my band sells quite a few at our shows. I don't think the face to face cd sells are suffering from piracy. The change in a physical medium to digital for sure, but that's why you also offer your music digitally.

Did you look at the link? I don't find an update frequency on either site, but, I think Freepress is a more reliable source than Wiki.

Haha Did you?! OpenCongress.org is not Wikipedia - that term 'wiki' used in the URL, is a term used for an area that is updated by various users. In the case of OpenCongress.org, those users are registered with the site and are often involved directly with various representatives, offices, etc
OpenCongress.org is about as reliable of a source for congress functions as you can get short of watching C-SPAN all day.
...and PIPA goes down!
The internets is safe for another day.

SOPA and PIPA are dead . . . for the time being. The bills sponsors in both houses of congress have announced their bills will be put on hold and are NOT coming up for debate or vote. Good . . . but . . . this is was just another chapter in the race to control/limit the internet in the United States. It wont be the last time the US-gov't attempts to put some serious limits and restrictions on the internet that do not favor openness. For now the this battle appears to be temporarily on hold.

Screw openness. Let's start off by guaranteeing compliance, then we can talk about loosening restrictions.
