I picked it up.
Alex sounds loose as a goose and is really nailing the tunes, mixing it up with Eddie and Dave.
The drum sound is MASSSSSSIVE.

“Let's try some of my songs.” Dave Grohl, top sign drummer will be fired.

Unfortunately the dynamic range of the CD is terrible (DR5).

I'd say massively shitty. To my ears there's no punch in the drums due to heavy compression. But that's what they do to so many albums these days. Listen to 1984 and then this one at the SAME volume and you'll agree.

Exactly.

Some cool recent interviews

It''s refreshing seeing these guys be mature and getting along, while the music still kicks ass. Love Alex!

Alex really is the center of VH...he has such a strong presence with the band.
I was floored at his drinking issues after hearing Sammy's audio book...like
the guy waking 20 mins before a performance and beer bonging.
Glad they survived all of this and got to the other proverbial side...
you nailed it Steve...more maturity with age (it has its advantages).
On the first video release party, I was struck at the role Alex plays
in his drumming. He is very confident in what he plays and his role as big bro.
This is a stark contrast to the very early days when I saw VH at the
LA Coliseum on one of those band weekends. He was all over the place,
playing ruff fills over Dave until Roth said, "Al...take it easy bro" and addressed
the audience as only Diamond Dave could.
Man, they were the best show on earth back in the day.
Vintage Dave at his best...
VH as I remember back in the day!

It's great to see Dave interview Al and Ed (and letting them talk!)..... definitely more maturity, and mellowness with age. I had no idea their Mom was from Indonesia...... So cool.....
