He's an old regular from Virgil's forum.

Fantastic player! I love what he does.
Re: Travis Orbin
I'm not into the music but he's awesome. A lot of skill going on there. Never heard of him before.

Re: Travis Orbin
Some of his part are composed a little like Mark Zonder of Fates Warning.
http://www.markzonder.com
The vocalist sounded like some major heaving was about to take place...
forget the lyrical warning..."Lead vocalist might puke on this track"
He went from death metal to American Idol in a few measures.
His kit is very minimal which would be an interesting conversation.
Similar to Virg's playing, I hear a lot of practice patterns...I am hearing
Chafee & Magini influences heavily.
The blunder @ 1:30 off the 2nd vid from original post was hilarious.
The man's got skills...hit every beat with precision and confidence.
His BD sound is HUGE http://travisorbin.com/lessons.htm
He killed this!

YouTube comment:
Man I feel bad for all these bands that hire Orbin then have to find someone to try to attempt this stuff.
