Brushes
Where do you have them on your kit for quick access? I hate having them lay on the floor tom or bass drum. Does anyone make a stand or something that makes them easily accessible in the open position?

Re: Brushes
If I need em quick I'll stick them under my leg essentially, kinda sitting on them. Or on the FT if I'm cool with not using it.

Respectfully to Peter, that's one night's pay on a jazz gig for...a stick bag.
Re: Brushes
this is a great question...without bending all the brushes or dropping them on the floor the floor tom is the only option it seems...or an Airtu percussion table .gif)

I always have an extra snare stand in my hardware case. I set it up with a pad on it for warming up then when it's time to play I have it next to my floor tom and use it as a table. It usually has on it: spare sticks, brushes, and my iPhone with metronome app open and ready in case I need to check a tempo. Works for me!

Or better yet, I'm going to try working on this (at 12:04):
Is that what you were referring to John?

Exactly, except i put both on the floor tom, together on the same side, maybe one on the snare is better actually but for me floor tom works fine, I also got it from Jeff H...
I have also (along the lines of what david said) draped a towel heavy duty music stand set pretty low by the floor tom or hihat, if im doing alot of stick changes. But normally for most gigs the above is cool.
