Yeah, that's a great video, Juan!

Interesting in comparison to the one I posted- looks like he's sitting a bit higher now and everything is a bit lower(sans a few cymbals obviously). I think he may even be hitting harder nowadays too...

These set up aspects, reminds me a question for Lucas:

Lucas, how do you manage to set up Dave´s drums every time, with different drums almost every night ?
The time we met, for example, it was rented drumset with no memory marks in the hardware or on the drum carpet ?
At first times, did you memorize the heights and angles, some sheet, measures, etc...?

How did you did it, at the beginnig?
Now?
I mean, I want to know... :)

When I was going out for long periods w/ Dave we'd go to great lengths
to have our gear, even if it meant having to have it driven through the
night. The most important piece of the rig is actually the marked
carpet ....

It's always a bear to have to do a gig with drums du jour. Something is
usually missing ... the way Dave plays heights and angles are
unbelievably important, so not having the right piece makes a huge
difference in terms of positioning. It ends up being a lot more work
for both of us.

It's impossible to memorize all the heights and angles for someone else,
but certain things you learn to ballpark (floor toms sloping away,
etc.).

I almost decked someone because they changed trucks and forgot my gig rug...

Great performance. Drums sound heavenly. Dave's playing is just brilliant on this tune.

Dunno...for me, my mind starts drifting when I hear that version, maybe the odd yawn. Vinnie's version however...it's like you're hanging on for dear life

Virgil's version with Tribal Tech however... it's like you're hanging on for dear life:

Ugh. Only Mike Clark should play these songs. Weckl/Vinnie are messing with an institution, IMO.
“Let's try some of my songs.” Dave Grohl, top sign drummer will be fired.
