In my case, it doesn´t matter who plays the tune.
I just DON´T LIKE Actual Proof, nothing: the groove, the bass line, the chords, melody, the keyboard riffs...

Dunno...for me, my mind starts drifting when I hear that version, maybe the odd yawn.
Virgil's version with Tribal Tech however... it's like you're hanging on for dear life:

This format feels a lot less geriatric to me:

Actual Proof is a choppy song. i like it. it's very different. so many musicians have done their thing with it. it's hard to latch onto. i didn't think vinnies performance on AP was that hold onto dear life. he's aggressive but not out there (there was a few moments tho). i thought dave's take on it was brilliant. typical dave smoothness with flawless execution. great phrasings. vinnie and dave can phrase like no other. these days the one thing i really care about is great phrasing and ideas. don't really care about crazy technique. as long as you get your ideas out that's all that matters. shame lots of ideas need independence and technique.

Great thing about that version is not Virgil's drumming. It's Gary whatzhisname's bassline.

Nothing like MC and Paul Jackson...the live version on Flood just knocks me out. I enjoy hearing Dave's and Vinnie's takes on this tune but I prefer Clark's original feel...it's as much a part of that music as the tune itself for me.

Maybe this is not the definitive video interview (it´s says "raw"), but I like it raw:
Re: DAVE WECKL - Recent activity & Videos
Nice stuff- Dave marking every four bars, as per usual:

About that RAW interview I posted above: it's a great interview.
