Speaking for me, it's not about being negative, it's just about taste, and SS have never been in my taste anyway, and I have a HUGE respect for his drumming skills, sure, but then it's just drums... ;-)

But maybe I should apply those words, "if you have nothing good to say then say nothing..."

In the same time it's a forum so...
I come from Tain, Vinnie, Omar, Jeff, Fish, Stewart, and many more...

As usual, I will try to not bite my tongue in half. I Will say I like that he's trying to incorporate some of the Indian culture into his playing. I think it's actually a great exercise to try and sing phrasing that other limbs are playing (singing while playing the double bass pattern was cool). I really love how loose Jo Jo is. His body language/motion keeps evolving along with the elite technique and and drumming ability that he already displays. Thanks for sharing....

I wish these guys recorded and performed music with bands more often. I'd love to see Jojo live in a non-clinic gig.

As for Steve Smith, I just hope he gets rid of those black dots soon. And what is it with so many drummers playing with tiny toms (as in 8")? Get rid of those bongos and get some beefy toms! ;)

I love Steve Smith's drum sound on the first two Vital Information records. Clear Ambassadors. Yum!

As with many things with Mike, I like the message, but not the presentation. It's a good message though!

There is some SICK live VI stuff on the DVD releases that doens't appear to be on youtube. SS is playing his ass off.

He probably hasn't played a real rock gig in 30 years.
