Hi Cats- Just checking in to say hello.

Postby Phil Maturano » Wed Jun 19, 2013 3:19 pm

Its been a while since I been on here. With so many sites to keep track of...my old haunts seem to be drifting away. So I just wanted to swing by and send greetings. I am in Southern Italy at the moment. Wrapping up work stuff. Then headed back to NY in a few weeks.
If you want to see some pics of what i been up to (Including working and studying in India) please head over to my facebook page. India was an amaaaazing experience!

Nice touch Phil! And great production with that video. Sounds really nice. I've never seen that ride before (the lower one). It has a nice wobble and cool dry sound.

Thanks Paul! I had a really fantastic director on that shoot in LA. Mark Putnam, he does lots of film and TV so he really knew his stuff! Made the studio look beautiful.

The ride is from a Jazz Series I did with Sabian. Its not out yet but you can get it through the custom shop from them. There is a video on the Sabian youtube page that tells a lot more about them. I really love it and its a new sound for the Sabian arsenal.
Thanks for writing bro! Many greetings, PM

Hiiii Mark! Man time really zooms by!! I cant believe it sometimes.
I was In India yes! For 3 months! Playing and doing some teaching at a new school out there. But i also got to study in depth with Karthic. The resident percussion teacher there. He is Soooooo good bro!!! I have some video and tons of notes. It was a blast!! Really a tremendous study and more confirmation that drumming never ends!

How are you and where are you?
