Re: Experience with Sakae Drums
I bet I can get the sound from my Catalina kit.
Re: Experience with Sakae Drums

JJ is joining Sakae... Their artist roster is already pretty amazing (considering they´re kind of "new")...

Hey Rodge, how do you like Sakae so far? Are you missing Yammie or Gretsch at all?
Re: Experience with Sakae Drums
Hey hermano, I LOVE my Sakae Trilogy, great stuff !!!
I still own a Gretsch and a Yamaha, but my Sakae is really class, great great stuff.

For me to get really excited, I want to see someone change the number of lugs on toms. I want a 14" tom with 7 lugs instead of 8. Actually, even 6 would be fine. I like that Gretsch makes their 8, 10 and 12 inch toms with 5 lugs. I just wish they took that thinking a bit further (even though their inspiration was probably just based on costs).
It would also be nice if tension rods had a tighter (finer) pitch to allow for more gradual/precise tensioning.
Totally agree with this. Especially about the finer tuning rods...I wonder, would it be possible to swap out the Gretsch lug inserts for the DW true pitch stuff?

This is especially true of the higher jazz/bebop tuning...the difference between a high end drum and a very, very cheap drum is minimal.
