Well it is very not negative, sure I smile, but it's not negative.

Guy put a link where he wants to talk about Steve Gadd, GREAT, but if he puts "I like Vinnie, but Steve is the man...", I say "I like Steve, but Vinnie is my man..."

Nothing negative here too, but I don't know how people perceive things, it's not a big deal anyway.

Electrizer, Virgil is Morgenthaler's boy like Vinnie is mine, if you want to see this like a "youtube" type of comment, it's fine for me, I'm not above people commenting on youtube anyway, I'm a regular guy.
I come from Tain, Vinnie, Omar, Jeff, Fish, Stewart, and many more...

Just sounded a little derogatory and immature to me. I'm a regular guy too but I was talking about the intellectual load of what you say, especially when in written communication like this a lot of the non-verbal stuff is lost and it's easy to misconstrue.

A nice quote I just stumbled upon. Si-Phi on practicing, chops-building and Virg.

Here's a great exercise that Virgil demonstrated at the 1997 Modern Drummer Festival. His focus was on the feet, but
it's a great exercise for hands as well. It's a 4-step circle of doubles, utilizing straight doubles and inverted doubles with both hands or feet leading.
As I said, it really can be done with hands or feet. It's dead simple. Here goes:

|| :rrllrrllrrllrrll
rllrrllrrllrrllr
llrrllrrllrrllrr
lrrllrrllrrllrrl: ||

Repeat over and over and slowly build up speed, starting at around 80 bpm (4/4) and do the exercise as 16th notes.
This is a great tool to build and train the ability to shift leading hand (or foot) in any kind of fill or beat.

Enjoy!
