Luv Simon! Got THAT punch to his playing.
Simon Phillips @ Beatsupplier Amersfoort...classic Jeff groove (keyboard sound was horrendous)
but this was just a Jeff song (I know...)...that bass groove was awesome! Wish there was just
drums and bass on this one in clinic.

Really enjoyed that, it's funny, Simon is quite like Gadd in that he has a certain bag of stock licks that he uses all the time but the way he uses them is just so effective, he really owns them!

Thunderous.

I used to grab a chair and chill to this loudly in our college house basement, which had a big soundsystem. Prolly why I have hearing probs.

Re: SIMON PHILLIPS - The thread about Simon
He's playing a Yamaha kit there, probably what was in the house. Doesn't really matter, as his touch (even in the lower quality audio) really provides his sound.
Got Blushda?
Re: SIMON PHILLIPS - The thread about Simon
Man, I love Simon's playing and sound, but watching him play he looks kinda...strange. It's his kit setup, combined with his (basically) ambidextrous approach. I guess my eyes aren't used to seeing that.
Oh well, he still is THE MAN!.gif)
