Re: My practice log
Changed things around a bit now.
Most hand technique is done at home on the pad. Guess I've become a believer in having a set of heavier pad sticks.
All stickings are being practiced over foot ostinatos. Since this gives my right foot plenty of work I do some extra work for the left foot.
Samba and afro things slowly coming together, but it's definetly not easy.

Are you familiar with the Rudimental Ritual? To me, is one of the best ways to get your hands and coordination together. Remember to play it with both sticks and brushes and always playing a samba pattern underneath.

Re: My practice log
Alan Dawson Method was one of the first books I ever got. Started out doing it back then, but never went through it all and haven't looked at it since, but it should be quite easy to implement at this point.

Re: My practice log
Main part of my practice now is samba feet with Stick Control, compound stickings and my old typical accent, double and flam exercises + some reading.
I'll start changing to baiao, 6/8, mambo feet(or whatever they're called) when that's comfortable.

Re: My practice log
Been practicing all day since Thursday now. 10-12 hours behind the kit.
Seems some more variations for the first page of Stick Control are crawling into my routine. Seems to work really well. I really like this one.
Also putting some extra work BD work for my left foot and playing a bit open handed, since that seems like the most obvious to way give my left hand a boost.

Re: My practice log
Thanks.
Gonna take me a while to get that together. Tried it with just quarters on the ride first.
