Hi guys. I haven't been here for ages! Hope you're all well.
Ok, we all know Gergo is amazing, but seriously, I think he stepped his game up another 600 gears. I don't know if these have been posted, but this solo is both unbelievable and incredible. So much so, I call it, er, Unbeledible.
His ghost note work between hihat and snare is really really impressive and quite unique. He's got masses of ideas and phrasings, they pour out relentlessly one after the other, always keeping it new and fresh. But wait, now check out the tune he plays on the second video. It's astonishing how tight he is while playing such complex chops. Enjoy!

I prefer this version of dance for Allan.
Gergo is an intrincate mixture of many really kick ass influences.

That second version (Manu's post) is killing!
He's got some cool ideas, like Manu said, you can definitely see/hear the influences being mixed quite nicely. Great ideas in that first vid.

I agree, it does cook better. Couple of subtle things I really like in the live version. Those two perfectly timed cymbal hits right at 3:08 coming out of that awesome fill. And a more relaxed ending at 3:30.

That's really beautiful playing.

Check this one out, crazy stuff.
When you watch Gergo play live you know he is pushing the boundaries, that makes it really exciting.
Re: Gergo Borlai at 2010 Meinl Drum Festival
I'm not certain Gergo is pushing boundaries because I've not yet seen he has any. He's the quintessential "go for it" drummer right now. Every clip I've seen his playing is boiling over. I'm not sure he has a "simmer" setting. LOL
“Let's try some of my songs.” Dave Grohl, top sign drummer will be fired.

Yes, my favorite too, that video was my introduction to Gergo's drumming.
He's between Vinnie, Dennis, and his Eastern europe background, great mix !!!
I come from Tain, Vinnie, Omar, Jeff, Fish, Stewart, and many more...

Gergo is a blast to watch and listen to.
I bought both his albums and there is some good stuff in there. Plus, he plays with Gary Willis and Scott Kinsey (as well as others) on them.
There is one solo he did that's up on YT that was so original. Ill see if I can find it.
Anyway, Love this guy. refreshing.

I hear a little Dennis sometimes. I'd never thought that before, but anyways. He's like a Euro-Dennis, but with more ideas? lol
