Practising with Thomas for this week's tour start

2;28 to 2:40. Cool way to play accents while playing doubles on the snare. Video is a gold mine. 4:52 - 5:00 is just insane.
What's that Mr. Shed?! Get your ass in here.

Re: Official Virgil Donati thread
^ Thanks for posting that drum fantasy camp sound check. Man, I love hearing Virgil in a soul/fusion/jazz setting. His usual super complex prog metal stuff, amazing as his chops are, does nothing for me, leaves me cold. I've never been a big fan of prog anyway. But in this setting, he grooves hard, hits hard and plays some of the tastiest fills imaginable. I'd be a much bigger fan of his if he did more stuff like this, because the music moves me more.
Particularly like what he does from 3:13 to 4:01.

@Rudy_Ment Then you might love this short clip
Re: Official Virgil Donati thread
Yeah, good call!
By the way Morgenthaler, do you happen to know what Sabian ride he's playing here, on the right with the unlathed ring underneath? Sounds great.
Also, would you be able to explain how he's doing this, from 0:17.
It sounds really good. Although I don't think I'll be able to coordinate it even when I know how it's done, I think I'd need two brains!
I get the left hand/left foot and he's starting on the foot. FLFLFFLFLFLL
It's the right hand single paradiddle he doesn't demonstrate separately. Is he starting with right foot (simultaneously
with his left foot) FRFFRFRR?

Hey @Rudy_Ment
I believe this to be the ride: http://www.steveweissmusic.com/product/ ... de-cymbals
And yes, in the single/double paradiddle groove he does lead with his right foot as well:
