"Petty was in desperate need of a guy behind the kit, after the departure of original drummer Stan Lynch. Grohl auditioned and, just to up the pressure, the audition was the Heartbreakers' appearance on Saturday Night Live. Grohl, as you might expect, killed it, and Petty later offered Grohl a permanent job. He turned it down, out of a want to do his own music. You know you're awesome when you can say no to the chance to work with Tom Petty, and it was the right move."

"With influences from Chick Corea Elektric Band, Dave Weckl Band, Yellowjackets and Tribal Tech, The 4 Korners have completed their second album titled "Portal of Gold" .

These guys are beasts. You can definitely hear early Elektric Band inspiration.

This is really nice as well. The vocal riff kind of made me think of Gino Vanelli's music for some reason.
