Love that section he solos over there. He's the 6/8 master - no one comes close.

Damn, why this solo doesn't touch me ?

I come from Tain, Vinnie, Omar, Jeff, Fish, Stewart, and many more...

I really dig hearing him play over Chick's accents. Man, that is just sick stuff.
Rodge, is it because it is a bit lacking in dynamics and melody? I am not ripping into his playing, this solo is ridiculous, but his playing gets fatiguing to my ears.

Not fans of Greg's playing, just jump to 1:08.

Taste is a personal thing, but FWIW, the audio on that CCEB vid is terrible. So much of the power of that song comes from how LOUD and FULL the lines are; Chick sounds like he's playing a toy organ there, and the bass doesn't translate at all. Also a lot of Dave's dynamic contrast is lost in the video.

Just back from the Stern show.
Got there in time for the soundcheck and hung a bit on the stage with Dave.
There's something nice about being inside a concert venue of this stature doing whatever I want, finding whatever seat I want while everyone else is waiting and freezing outside.
Dave was on fire, but Tom was who I think surprised people the most in addition to Mike singing.
Got my ticket a long time ago, but he would have put me on the guestlist if I hadn't. Class act.

How was Mike's hand? Is he still gluing the pick to his fingers, or has the nerve damage recovered enough for him to play at his usual level?

Still a lot of pain it seems and there's obviuosly something wrong when you shake his hand, but he just pushed through it. Super positve guy. You'd probably need to know and be a guitar player to tell.
