I am just trying to offer some friendly advice. No harm intended, no need to be offended. I'm using a simple program ACL audio cleaning lab. Okay if you prefer EQ instead of remaster, fine. That's all it is. I've played the original discs the past 20 years on many many speaker systems and I can unequivocally say that most recordings are flat where the drums are concerned. I really don't think it's my hearing or loss of any high-end. I've already had my hearing checked from an audiologist and I'm cool.

Sorry if I sounded rude... I meant that maybe you like to hear things a certain way and that´s cool. I have a decent setup (nice DAC and Genelec speakers) and I couldn´t be happier about it...

I am totally open to hearing the remix...I want to do this with jazz music
turn down the horns and bring up the ride...the horn mix is way too high

Tough crowd no doubt... Girl wrote a cool tune, with interesting 5/8 - 6/8 sections... (btw, every other LA girl would do a vid focused on herself. Fuck those old session players. This girl is featuring the bad as much as her. Nice touch)

btw, some of the tougher critics are weekend warriors playing covers, go figure...

I never said the tune was no good. It's very good. And the playing is top notch. My issue with the vocals is the same issue I have with almost 100% of any music which has been released ever since about 2010. The Melodyne madness is just too much for me and I just cannot listen to vocals with that sort of processing. Let's not forget that music is an aural thing, not visual. It's nice that she posted a video of the sessions, but it would have been nicer if her singing wasn't processed in that manner. I may have even purchased a copy of the record.

I'm not sure if you're referring to me with your weekend warrior dig, but I rarely play or engineer anymore. There was a time when I made a living from music, but that was long ago. I think my experience does carry some weight however, especially as it pertains to the recording process.

She reminds me of my buddy's daughter...he is a big wig exec who
hired A session cats (totally don't get the comment on those
"old session players") to play on her record...those guys could make
my vocals sound respectable! Art is art, but when you total the Melodyne
impact and the A session old F' dudes...what do you have left?
Relevant topic about music and the industry pertaining to technology,
talent, and overall production.

Isn't it kinda like that crazy hot actress, when seen w/o make-up and hair
looks like your cousin? More power to her...
