For the Greb vid: Thanks a lot Joe! I was going to record the solo in a different take but just ended up plowing through the whole tune.

Jem: Thanks. I watched Austin Burcham's vids on drum mixing for starters, then a few others on general mixing and mastering as well. The mics are of the cheap variety - AKG "Groove pack" for OHDS, kick and toms. SM57 for snr and a cheap condenser for the HH. I have a pretty particular sound I'm going for that's kind of big and in your face. Lots of EQ and compression to get that. I try and not have the drums sound too isolated - I want the OHDS present and the individual tracks layered underneath.

Once again Steve, great communication. You take a phrase, demo
in various speeds, break it down...then repeat (it is here most move
on) but the repetition has similar impact like Letterman doing a bit
in minute 15 of his show, and at minute 40 throws in the same bit
in a different context...this jogs the mind to a forgotten joke and
then it takes a new life form (actually enhances memory). It is a
hard to master teaching technique which is why so few use it.
You have done this before--your doubles video series for instance
and others. You also gave a good teaching pace (tempo) and
avoid distracting chatter/intros.
