I was lucky enough to have my dad bring me to an Alan Holdsworth concert in the 1980s. A year before that he drove me to see Buddy Rich.
Chad's drums sounded incredible through the p.a. system. It was after the "Road Games" record came out. Crazy good......
(BTW- Chad was playing a new brand of drums back then - “DW” drums.)

Chad's rhythmic phrasing seems to have been influenced by (among other sources) 20th-21st century classical composition. I wonder what some of his favorite percussion scores are and which compositions he has drawn from ?
