HAHA. I remember quite a few lunches with Mr. Purdie. We used to be booth neighbors in Frankfurt for many years, and while he's an absolute egocentric nutcase, he's also a fantastic drummer, who is - genuinely - responsible for some of my favorite drum parts, ever.

Very cool! I was wondering, in situations like this one (where it looks like he is recording himself), does Virgil do his own drum mix? Maybe sends a stereo file to the mix engineer, or does he send out raw files?

He does his own drum mix these days.
Only for bigger album productions, he hires a master and mixer. I love the drum mix in this video too btw!
