I actually feel really bad for this kid...it seems he can't outlive the "diseased" state of mind that music education can bring...Kenny Werner is right about that.

His technique, time, control, mastery of rhythm, and chops are other-wordly. Chops wise he's in the same class as, or perhaps beyond in some instances, Borlai, Coleman, Bruner, etc. but way younger than most.
I'm sure there are people who would call for more 'musicality,' space, and dynamic. But this is his thing - currently. I'd still argue he plays very melodically; it's just very dense. It's scary thinking what he'll be doing in decades time.
