Wow. This kid is great. That gotta match clip was impressive. Had me smiling the entire time. 10 years old. I was to busy climbing trees, playing sports and getting in trouble at his age. Hope he sticks with it. Pun intended. this kid has a great memory and big ears.

Pretty amazing...gotta love the Rosanna intro.

I think of Tony Royster Jr back in the day...he was THE drum whiz kid.
Speculation to his progression and maturity was rampant. Then there
was the "Tower of Inspiration" kid on Carson.

One strong thread around these kids is a significant father-son bond. This can be
a toxic bond, but strong nonetheless. Hopefully, this kid has a good healthy
relationship with his parents and is having a lot of fun.

I also think of great child actors. Who would argue that Haley Joel Osment
or Dakota Fanning surely must progress to adult greatness. Not always the case.
For every Elizabeth Taylor and Roddy McDowall, there are a string of kids
that simply went away.

This is a very rare talent for his age. I work with this age group and have for 20 years...
there ain't a lot of them around. On the playground they look like any other kid.

How much would you pay for a film clip of Vinnie in his teen years, Dave at 10, or
Tony Williams practicing his rudiments after school?

That's the thing though, there's obviously a lot of money involved. Who knows who's teaching the kid and with what frequency?

For instance Tony Royster Jr - Did he have chops? No doubt. But basically a clone of Dennis Chambers... who not surprisingly was well paid to be the kids private teacher. The MD with them both on the front, remember that? Like despiel said, it's mimicking, in the case of Tony Royster Jr, it was plainly obvious as well. He sound(ed) like Dennis, just flat out.

Particularly with the asian community you see a TON of these "prodigies", is it the culture of pushing kids hard? Maybe something else?
