I'm trying to rationalize where he might be coming from, say worst case scenario he doesn't want footage of what one may say is "overplaying" ? But it was during sound check..and there's a retail released DVD of his playing on that gig..his beautiful playing that fits that gig perfectly. If anything the new footage shows he KNOWS when to play a lot and have some fun, and when to play for the music, since we could compare both videos.

But whatever, it's his image, his playing, so if it bothers him, it bothers him. Good luck taking down super in demand and enjoyed content from the internet.

Totally see where you(and Vinnie) are coming from, and kudos for your respectful attitude toward him...but (big sigh) you're right, it's getting 'old'.
Still - there will be some folks with a copy to share I'm sure. ;)

Wow. Glad I D/L'd the clip.

cbrady, I would assume vinnie himself. He's renown for not wanting footage of him around, and wouldn't doubt if he frequents this site/forum as it is rather 'famous' in the community.

I can see both sides, and not sure how I'd react if in the position myself. Though Steve is also right, trying to control content on such a open expanse like the internet is silly, those who want [whatever] will always have it.

*shrug* Respect to the master though.

Well....there seems to be something wrong with the private message feature.
I get this error message:

Just wanted to thank whomever found/uploaded this clip. After watching it a few times, I was inspired to fumble through my music collection and ended up listening to the entire Mark Egan/Vinnie album.

The inevitable result of listening to such a quality Vinnie clip is a rekindling of my love for the guy's playing/music .... and usually end up searching the webs for more of his music to purchase.

The leaking of unauthorized clips of Vinnie shredding seems like good branding/marketing to me. I hate to think of how meager my Vinnie collection would be had I not been inspired by the many "unauthorized" clips in circulation.

Just wondering if it came directly from the Vinster or from an intermediary.

yep, it's too late. It's online forever now.

There's a Drew Carey episode where some guy says, "Alright, give me the Internet; hand it over." And they hand him a floppy. Taking down one link on the Internet is the same thing. I'm not saying this to bash Steve's decision at all, in fact I would've done the same thing out of respect for his wishes. But its silly to think that it just won't get posted again.
