STEVE MILLER BAND

Postby Juan Expósito » Thu May 05, 2011 1:43 pm

This is ONE OF THE GREATS.
With one of my bands I sing some songs, and I´m going to play and sing this Steve Miller Band "TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN", as soon as I/we rehearsal it...Tomorrow is our first rehearsal in some years of giging and not adding new material.
We´re going to add 10-12 new songs on our repertory.
We already play THE JOKER, from the beggining of the band.
I am excited to try this.

And I found this Live Concert...what a band.
Plug your HEADPHONES and turn it up...I LOVE IT.
(The sound of the clips is a little saturated, but...)

Absolutely love them. "Jet Airliner" is probably my favorite.

Good luck on singing and playing "Take the Money and Run!"

Just an interesting fact.....

Steve's keyboard player is Joseph Wooten, Victor's brother.

I knew a guy who played keys in this band for years, Byron Alred. He's a great player, too.

Great drum sound...did not care for the beat to the first tune.
I say stick with the original groove...you don't play, I Keep Forgettin'
with 8th notes!

Just my personal conviction...

I agree about the drum beat in the first groove (first clip)
Much better the original version. The original groove is which I had in mind for playing the song...
I am practicing the groove + vocals...I will survive, and the band too (I hope).
Good feelings in my drumroom while practicing it.

The original version, with the drums starting at 0:20:
