I never seem to get tired of hearing Copeland’s playing with The Police. So many killer parts, grooves and fills from so many tunes.

On a ton of the material (especially the more up tempo stuff), he is not only on the front end of the beat, he’s on the bleeding edge of it.

Not rushing, but he has his shoulder firmly planted in the backs of Sting and Andy. Push them along, and not always very gently. I love it.

As far as the infamous head graffiti…

It reads F#CK OFF YOU C#NT. And from most reports, it was directed right at Sting. Gotta love that guy. :)

Having read a lot of Police history the last few years, I have a strong sympathy for anyone who had to work with the Police. Just the two egos of Sting and Copeland alone was enough for any other two major European rock acts. And Miles Copeland managed them? That would have been the world's greatest reality show if they had them back in the early 80s.
