Thanks to “Pocket Player” for his post on the HOD forums letting us know that Vinnie is doing a date at LA’s Jazz Bakery on August 2nd and 3rd with Brian Bromberg and Randy Waldman. Here is a link to the Bakery’s schedule.

Thanks to Mike A for letting me know that Dave has updated his page AGAIN (someone phone Guinness, I think we have a record). Dave mentions that he was part of the “Ultiamte Drummers Weekend” in Austrailia as well and confirms a DVD release at some point. There are also samples from his upcoming CD right here. Mike also mentions a conversation he had with Chicago-area pianist Larry Novak…better known to us as Gary’s father. Apparently he and Gary are probably going to do an album with John Pattitucci later this year. Pretty cool.

According to Virgil Donati’s web site, as well as this thread on Audiophile Import’s Forum, the “Ultimate Drummers Weekend” in Australia was filmed for a possible DVD release at some point. Still looking for an official web site for the event to find more info. Feel free to E-Mail me if you find one.

The Hudson Music Website has a details on the upcoming Steve Smith video. “The most in-depth study of drumming technique ever done on video or DVD as well as a thorough and fascinating survey of the evolution of the primary drum set pulse in the music or the U.S., from Ragtime to Fusion. Features two bands, including the great Vital Information.” This interview Smith also mentions it.

Houseofdrumming news correspondent John Thibault (Aka “T-Bo”) took some pics of Vinnie’s performance at a benefit concert in LA a while ago, a few of which were in the July issue of Modern Drummer. Our friend Robert Opeland’s Drumland Website has some interesting news bits about Zildjian getting the Vinnie clinic tour up again (their site says nothing about it yet) as well as news of Steve Smith filming a NEW instructional video.

According to the The Baked Potato calander Vinnie is there on the 14th of June with The Mike Landau trio and the 15th with Greg Mathieson.
Looks like the July issue of MD reviews the new Apex Theory CD as well. The new Apex video shows some nice drumming, swing by and have a look!
